New Lows – New Lows

I did a bunch o stuff for a zine while I was still in college. I made up a mini print issue, I didn’t dedicate to making copies so I said fuck it. But, if you made it this far, I am making this update, another one, and almost have enough content for a new issue. I promise this will be an official LONG overdue issue number two, it has some really great stuff and I am going to be working hard for the rest of the week to really make it packed. This review is obviously a little dated because this came out last year in like October I think, but here is New Lows:

New Lows, the name says it all, it is a dark depressed sounding name, and the music follows suit. Arguably one of the heaviest bands in hardcore right now, New Lows recently dropped a self titled EP, and it is in my opinion one of the best this year. It is an amazing mix between fastcore and down beat hardcore, like a slower heavier Mind Eraser. It is hard to explain with just words how unreal this album is, you need to hear it yourself, the guitars are deep, accompanied by a steady drum beat, which at times turns into a very heavy tom roll. Point is, it makes you wanna mosh, hard, forever. As usual you can get this at Revhq.com, so get it, and support this hardworking, no bullshit band.

  1. do you know what dark music sounds like? it does not sound like this. This sounds like standard hardcore riffs drop tuned to sound heavy. And that is what it is. Mind Eraser is way heavier than this band also. And way faster. And geez i would hope a band is able to keep a steady drum beat.

It’s not necessarily a bad review if what you said about the band was true…
